Our tester Claire was impressed by the neat, easy-to-open packaging and thought it was to be one of the quickest and most simple pieces of baby equipment to put together. She took it for a spin on some rough terrain and was extremely pleased with its performance.
Seats
The majority of 3 wheel double buggies are initially single pushchairs. However, some models can be converted to accommodate a second seat or carrycot with adapters (these are more commonly found in tandem buggies). 3 wheeled pushchair 'll also see that some models allow you to include a ride-onboard for older children who would like to walk, but need a little help.
Check out the Joie Evalite Duo for a lightweight option perfect for urban streets. It's easy to move and comes with a deep basket that has plenty of storage space. It can accommodate twins starting at birth and can accommodate two car seats or a carrycot with seat. The seats have to face toward the forward direction and there isn't space to store a shopping bag under the seat. You will require an additional side bag.
Mountain Buggy Duet will be an ideal choice If you like off-road driving. It's a side-by- side with the smallest footprint of any double buggy that is available. It's easier to maneuver through narrow doors, on public transport and to climb over and up kerbs. The adjustable handlebar comes with an integrated handbrake to increase security and safety.
Another lightweight choice is the UPPAbaby Vista 2 Double that can be used for twins or a toddler and a baby. The seats have multi-position reclining and UPF 50+ sunshades, while the canopy can be adjusted to keep the sun out of your child's eyes. The Vista 2 can even be transformed into a triple by the addition of UPPAbaby's 'PiggyBack board designed for mobile older children.
The iCandy Orange double buggies are one of the most sought-after available. This is due to their outstanding comfort. It's an all-terrain vehicle, with soft suspension to make easy work of bumpy surfaces. It offers 30 different seating options and a built-in board for older children who prefer to walk, and a 'cinema' mode which raises the back seats to provide better visibility.
Alternately, the phil&teds dots is a fantastic single buggy from the beginning that is able to easily be adapted to take 2 (or 3!) in multiple configurations. This is especially helpful for parents with children in a car seat, because the frame can be equipped with a wedgie for optimum lie-flat positioning, or car seat adapters to many brands.
Suspension
The suspension of a double 3-wheel buggy will determine how easily your child/children and you can push it. It is important to have a smooth ride since babies feel every bump in the road. This is especially relevant if you drive on rough terrain such as grass or roads that aren't paved. Some models also have locking front wheels to help with maneuvering and getting over obstacles such as curbs.
Some models use air-filled tyres, which give you a great all-terrain adventure, but they could be susceptible to punctures, so make sure you have a spare set in the trunk. Other models use gel or foam tyres that are designed to take the bumps and are less susceptible to punctures, however, you may feel a bit stiff and uncomfortable on your child's back should you decide to jog.

Folding
A 3-wheel double buggy can fold pretty neatly for storage. There are models that fold flat or stand up (as as if they were a pushchair) and those that are able to open up to reveal more umbrella-like folding that has the option of a hand-operated break. The more wheels a buggy has, in general, the easier it is to maneuver over rough terrain. This is especially relevant when the wheels are bigger than the average. This will provide you with more stability and make it less likely that your children will fall over or tip over.
The iCandy Wave is a popular option. It can be used in conjunction with an infant car seat from birth and then converted to a double buggy when your child is old. It's a light-feeling option, which makes it easy to push and comes full of extra features including bumper bars and a raincover.

All of this is incorporated into its small footprint. It has a clever 3-wheel design with an sling seat that provides superior manoeuvrability, stability and kerb pop.

This is a very lightweight and compact model that folds with one hand and is perfect for traveling. It's a bit on expensive side, but it does have several standout features that make it a great value choice, including its simple one-click fold, and numerous extras including a bumper bar and raincover.
Storage
Many are awed by the capacity of storage offered by the triple wheeled double buggy. Certain models, such as the Roma Atlas, have a large basket as well as two zip pockets on the hood where you can store your phone and keys. It's also designed to handle slightly rough terrain which makes it a great option for family walks or all-terrain hikes.

It's the smallest side-byside double on the market. It also comes with impressive technology, including LED lights for visibility which are located on both sides of the frame to improve safety during low-light conditions.
For something a little different and unique, the Joie Evalite Duo is a lightweight buggy that can accommodate twins from birth (it's open to the world and features a lie flat position). The frame's clever design expands to accommodate a second seat, but still weighs only 11kg. This makes it simple to move and lift. It can be used with a car seat, carrycot, or both. This lets you get the best of all worlds.
